It was revealed on Wednesday that 25-year-old defensive midfielder Zubimendi is a target for Arne Slot. And new sporting director Richard Hughes to improve the No.6 position. UFABET
Zubimendi has a release clause of €60m (£51.6m). And while those close to the Spanish club admit they are prepared to lose the player in the summer. It is believed he has yet to make a final decision on whether to leave his boyhood team.
The Daily Mail reports that Real Sociedad coach Imanol Alguasil is leading the effort to convince Zubimendi to stay. With the coach who gave Zubimendi his first-team debut in 2019 having met the midfielder on a number of occasions this week in a bid to persuade him to snub Liverpool.
He rejected offers from Arsenal and Bayern Munich last summer. And is now leaning more towards the exit than ever. But Alguasil and La Real executives have told the player his best option is to stay in Spain for at least another year.
Sources in Spain suggest part of the club’s appeal lies in how good life is for Zubimendi in San Sebastian. The player has many friends in the city and enjoys long walks in the Monte Urgull mountains overlooking the Basque region.
