Caretaker boss Lee Carsley insists he wants to see England play an exciting attacking game after his 5-0 thrashing of Ireland ended his tenure in charge.
“It was a good performance. I thought we started the game well and played with intensity. It was frustrating to finish half-time 0-0 but I had the belief we could score.”
“It was a great night for a lot of the players and the important thing was to get promotion (to the Nations League A). That’s the main thing we said we wanted to do, which is great.”
Asked how he felt about completing his caretaker role, Carley said: “Relieved”, adding: “I want England to be exciting to watch and to play against. I see them day in and day out on the training pitch and now we’ve seen it.”
“I can only do what I can control. It’s not a gamble with certain players. They are great players. They want to win whatever is in front of them. And in the U21s, they think about winning.”
“It (the time in charge) gave me and the staff confidence that we could do the job. You always wonder if you can do the job and there are a lot of people in their house who pick the team and pick the team.”
“The trust from my boss has Promotion ufabet greatly boosted my confidence.”
