www.jimplagakis.com MESSAGE BOARD
Welcome to the JP message board. Pretty much anything goes here. If you are reading this, you are probably in the pharmacy industry some how.
That means you have a richness of experience and a lot to share. Talk about it here.
Due to SPAM, this is a moderated board. New users, it might take a little longer for your posts to show up.

i wanted to avoid this, but the comments were so filled with passion when I caught someone (Only the Shadow Knows) at WM
peeping on www.jimplagakis.com, that it is clear that you have a lot to say. I discourage adult language over at the Main Page, but go for it here. How about some comment on the pharmacists who stay at Publix and Meijer after the frikkin'
free antibiotics.

You have been begging your associations and your Pharmacy Boards to help with your plight. YOUR WORKING CONDITIONS. All you get is a "busy buzz". Nobody home! Yawn. We have clincial stuff to do. You in retail are inferior.
They have bigger fish to fry, but, for you, there ARE NO bigger fish. Finally , you have a pharmacy alliance dedicated to gaining conditions that will allow you to have DIGNITY, SELF-RESPECT & INTEGRITY on the job. THE PHARMACY ALLIANCE.

Honest to gawd. I have had that question directed at me. With a scowl and a mean stare. What do you do?" You've got work to do. When I looked away, he got even meaner. "Look at me, mother*&^%$#."

Institutionalized is a term that refers to prisoners. They lack the will to act independently because they are so regimented. Pharmacists tend to be institutionalized also. We EXPECT to work 12 hour shifts. We ACCEPT that a meal at work is a salty snack and stale coffee. We think it is normal to hold it so long that you wet your pants. My friend The Ole Apothecary calls us "galley slaves".

These and other practice specialties can bring in well-earned income. If your are doing this, are you getting extra pay? Do you have your NPI number?

There are pharmacists who stay at home and do their counseling jobs on-line, with a good cup of coffee, in their pajamas. Can anyone tell us about out of normal practice?

Pharmacy, the profession, is just fine thank you. Do not blame pharmacy if you have allowed circumstances to make you unhappy.
